Here are my 2009 resolutions. What are yours?
1. Take time at the start to decide how to go to control 1.
2. Always know how I'm going to go to the next control as I go to punch the previous one.
3. Accept that the planner did his/her best even if I think they could have done better.
4. Play a more active part in my club.
5. Thank at least two volunteers at every event I go to.
6. Be organised enough to enter all events before the Closing Date.
7. Accept that others on Nopesport have valid views even if I find them strange.
8. Believe that the BOF volunteers are trying to do what they think is right, even when I don't understand why they're doing it.
9. Try to introduce at least one new person a month to orienteering.
10. Take an O map with me wherever I go so that I can explain orienteering to anyone I meet.

Thanks to LEI for Evington Park race
Thanks to LEIOC for today's event at Evington Park - and for being prepared to keep registration open past 12 noon if my cousins were a bit late. One party just made it, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, plus another cousin and uncle intercepted us by chance on the course. A very enjoyable introduction for them all - and may lead to further races in Leicester, Edinburgh and Surrey (a dispersed clan!)

Re: New Year O resolutions
Mine are similar to Oldmans
1. lose some weight and get fitter so i can run round an orange course without getting so out of breath i need to use my inhalers.
2. Take time at the start to decide how to go to control 1, and where i'm going next.
3. Play a more active part in my club - help at event when i can.
4. tidy out my bag sooner than the day before my next event.
5. Intoduce people to orienteering who i might be quicker than - so far my 4 step children and my nephew are always beating me.
6 Take an O map with me wherever I go so that I can explain orienteering to anyone I meet. (I think i do that one already - 'cos u can always find maps in the car)

Re: New Year O resolutions
Starting with the BKO New Year's Day Score Event presumably!
But you'll have to do it without Father Christmas's assistance from now on, Axel!
(I'm assuming, of course, that you're speaking metaphorically and won't be using the proactive race tactic shown in NFKLeanne's atavar)

All the good sports psychologists tell us to focus on performance NOT results. Let the results look after themselves. Perhaps we should all focus on improving skills and performance and not on kicking...........?

Good luck, but remember...
You can only kick the arse of someone who's ahead of you...

Coming soon

Judging by Thursday's results you need to add M40, M35, and M21 to the list too!
