hey guys thanks a lot for helping me out.

I'll definitely be true to my word and will liaise with the nopesport guys on an effective way to document the final of the Sprint Series. And I'll go the extra mile and make sure it's not just the normal shots - I'll try to do some more staged, dramatic stuff aswell.

If the city of London race goes ahead again next summer I'll do something at that aswell.

@blanka - i agree with you that it wasn't really a photography contest, but more of a popularity contest. i can only reassure you that i won't abuse my new found power and will still think of the children and the fluffy animals who deserve our love and support.

Popularity contest more than a photo contest is probably true, but remember that's what sony-ericsson wanted. Think about the amount of free publicity they've got out of this. Overall Bens photos were the best, his Freedom and egg photo's were pure class. Freedom went down particularly well with the 16 year old lads in my sports class! The girl who came 3rd was actually pretty good too. The still life of camera lenses by Donna, 2nd place, was where she messed up big time, the little kid with the teddy was popular but I think it would have been much better if the kid was smiling, the theme was 'best friend'.

Enlivened an other wise dull Friday morning at work by getting people to vote. Managed about a dozen so I guess it helped. Definitely the best person won but it's a pity we had to 'cheat' to get the win; the photos overall were good enough.

Ok any excuse to avoid the present wrapping - I enlisted Year 6 to hit the school computer suites and laptops. Backfired when the girls fell in love with the teddy bear but the boys liked Ben's freedpm image

(and since this is an open forum 1.it was lunchtime 2. we fulfilled the ICT National curriculum criteria on how to fix on-line polls!)

i am glad that i was able to help with these young peoples education. funnily enough i am doing an "artist in residence" placement at a school next year. i'll be keeping clear of rigging online polls, that's for sure...
