Re: Sheffield City Race
I have just been looking at routegadget for Sheffield.
It appears that Jonathan Emberton admits to crossing a wall at an illegal point in the Prologue. An error in drawing the route, or what?

If anyone fancies more entertainment of the sprinting variety, there is always the
DEE double sprint event this Sunday - 14th December at Daresbury Firs and Laboratory
(South Warrington, easy to get to from M62, M56, M6)
Yes, absolutely, I would have definitely gone to this...
...but it's not on the National Fixtures List, so I (and I suspect most people who like the sprint format) didn't know about it until now - and the cheap train tickets will have gone as it's so close to the event.
Orienteering's like a secret society sometimes, we seem to go out of our way to not promote our own events! No wonder the M/W21s are so scarce!
Sorry about that Mr Haggis.
I have only recently found out that it wasn't on the BOF Fixtures list. It has been registered for some time so I don't know how that has happened. Last year's event was a closed DEE/MDOC affair, but the intention was always that this would be an open race.
Anyone who is coming, note that we have strict 10->11 start times (and 10-15 walk
to start). We cannot be much later than this since we need time to prepare start lists for the afternoon stage so that they can finish before dark.
Details of the rules we will be using for the Micr-O are available on the DEE website
JK (the planner even though he is MDOC)

Speaking to BOF fixtures, it appears that the event was registered on an ER1S rather than an ER1 and hence didn't appear in BOF fixtures. I think that sets the scene nicely for the Micr-O - competitors will have to read the "small print" on their description sheets carefully (although I don't believe they are as hard as last year when only 2 out of about 60 got all 6 correct)
