So which clubs are in the final?
Will it be OD or Sarum this year?
How many clubs will travel the distance in December?
Can the competition survive?
Lots of questions any answers?

I'll be there - helping with something, don't know what but I've told Alan I'll help with something as it's being held close to where I live. Hopefully lots of Juniors will be there - I mite find out more on Sunday at the next NOR event

Southdowns will be there, but looking forward to next year when (if we qualify) we will be on home turf. Being on the South Coast does usually mean that competitions like Peter Palmer and Yvette Baker involve a lot of travelling!

Maybe shock of the round; NOC won't be! Knocked out by DVO.

DVO also beat WCH (and LEI) in a close contest last weekend. Congratulations and good luck in the final.

SARUM didn't enter as they aren't able to go to the final. SOC won the SWOA heat and will be in the final.

Re: YVETTE BAKER FINAL
It'll be interesting to see how strong the teams in the final are. I have to admit to a big disappointment that the final is, for I think the third year in 4, outside the 'box' that it was always meant to be in, significantly so in this case. Huge driving distances in December are not funny. I do know of several clubs who some time ago made the decision that the distances were too far, and that does effect the turnout. Qualifying rounds seem to be getting less competitive, not more.
Personally, I think the YBT needs a fairly substantial rethink.

Agree awk. It should be possible to have the event within a 75 mile radius of, say, Derby. Perhaps we can compromise it slightly by making the area suitable for the white, yellow and orange and shorten the technical courses a bit to fit into samller areas. The event is only a colour coded event, so doesn't need any of the razzmatazz that puts a strain on club's resources.

Re: YVETTE BAKER FINAL
I know that Lakeland didn't want to enter the North West round as they weren't prepared to travel to the final.
It has been recognised in Fixtures Group that the recent offers to host the Junior Competitions (BSOC/BSSC/YBT) had been skewed towards the south.
So from 2010 one competition will be hosted in North/Midlands/South revolving around the associations within each band. This is not an exact match in the early years (given bids that were already in the pipeline) but should work its way through to give the juniors a more even spread in respect of travelling.
The rota is given on page 9 of latest Fixtures Group minutes

Do you need to rephrase this so as to comply with the correct terminology for the structure of events for next year onwards?

Are BSOC & BSSC just restrictied to English schools? (And if so, should they be ESOC & ESSC? )

Re: YVETTE BAKER FINAL
I don't think they are restricted to English Scools at all they are run by BSOA and BO. Howevcer the World Schools selection is restricted to English Schools and English Nationals- this is set by ISSF, that is why the Scots send teams and the Irish

In which case it seems a bit hard on Scottish, Welsh & NI(?) schools that the future schedule for BSOC & BSSC appears to be to only rotate around North, Midlands and South (England)...

Re: YVETTE BAKER FINAL
From my own experience I know that a Scotish team attended World Schools in Belgium in 2004, outside of the BSOA qualification races. And I think there were Scottish teams at World Schools in Scotland this year that also had seperate selection races.
I don't know the situation with Wales & Northern Ireland.
