Re: Lost
From a dramatic viewpoint, it would be interesting to have one leave, with the other left behind. Sun has to leave or she's dead, but I can Jin sacrificing a lot to make sure she gets away. Similarly, I can see Claire doing anything to make sure Aaron's "safe", even if he does end up "raised by another".
And speaking of making sacrifices to ensure the safety of your loved ones, I still think I'm right about Ben's spy.

Re: Lost
Was Daniel doing a Jonny Depp impersonation in 5? I'm trying hard not to do spoilers but I'm in mourning for Eloise - those little pink feet! I don't know about Des and Daniel needing constants - I do after that episode! Brilliant!

Re: Lost
I don't think Jin made it off the island. Whether he's actually dead or not is another question, but I got the impression that it was a memorial and not an actual grave (my Korean's a little rusty, so not sure what the inscription said). In the absence of any further information, a case could be made for Aaron as one of the six, but until we see a flash-sideways with six people getting off a rescue helicopter, I'll reserve judgement.
Not a big fan of Jin's story in this ep. Didn't really tell us anything we don't already know about the character, and seemed to serve no other purpose than setting up the twist.

Re: Lost
No it was an annoying episode. But I have only been watching Lost for about the last 4 or 5 episodes, I was a long-time hater of the programme but I think I've finally been sucked in (could be due to how rubbish Norwegian TV is..). Think I am up to speed on most things now. Always surprised how well Jim Robinson is doing for himself these days. Although he seems to play the same character in the OC, Ugly Betty & now Lost. Wasn't he quite a nice guy back in his Erinsborough days?

You could just avoid the thread until you're caught up Wendles.
Jim Robinson was also the VP in 24, and killed Owen in Torchwood the other week. I'm not too familiar with his roles in OC or Ugly Betty, but he seems to be to go-to guy for "slightly shady business-type". As Widmore, he's being set up in opposition to Ben and the Others, but I wonder if he's allied with Hanso/Dharma. Ben didn't seem to fond of Dharma in the end. Enemy of my enemy? And does Paik fit into it at all?
I'd always wondered how Lost would look to a "new" viewer. Its mythos is one of the densest I've seen on a popular TV show, and even as someone who's been there from the start, there are things I miss. Recurring background characters, locations, names etc. I think the best way to watch it might be to avoid the weekly airings, and binge on DVDs at the end of each season. Like reading a Dickens novel instead of the serialisations. Once the whole story's there, it will probably make more sense. I hope.

Re: Lost
Becks, our chat at lunchtime got me thinking (and not just about Japanese punk, or whole-genome association studies). I don't think Rousseau's dead. Furthermore, I don't think she's "Rousseau". She claims to have lived on the island for 16 years, yet never discovered Otherville. She claims it's her voice on the transmission, but it sounds nothing like her.
She can't have survived on the island unless Ben knew about her and let her live ("This is OUR island"). Ben was taken off-guard by the plane crash, sending Ethan and Goodwin to infiltrate the survivors' groups without much planning. Sayid finds the cabin a few weeks later. I'm sure within that time, Ben could have placed an operative somewhere our castaways would "accidentally" stumble across them, to act as spy or agent provocateur. Kidnapping Aaron may have been a distraction to keep focus away from the raft. When Ben wants to get into the hatch, he can't just wander up, say "Hi, I'm Henry, how ya doing?", but when "captured" by Rousseau, he gets right where he wants to be. So they could be cahooting in some way, even if she's not officially anOther.
When Ben calls Alex his daughter, we assume he means adoptive because of Rousseau's story. What if he doesn't?
