The selections for the various teams for the World Schools' O Champs, being held in April 2008 near Edinburgh, are on the http://www.bsoa.org website.

Re: World Schools Selections
Interesting selections - no Scots in the teams... - Is it a "British" team or is it an "English" team?

Re: World Schools Selections
In the past there have been separate England and Scotland teams, so I'd guess that's the case this year too...

Re: World Schools Selections
I think the team is English [and Welsh? One of the senior boys select is I think] Schools (doesn't matter where you are from, just where you go to school), something to do with Scotland having a different educational system maybe, but being selected by the BSOA I can see the confusion.
Nice one Ulverston, having both junior teams is a good sign for the future

I believe there was a Scottish selection race at Faskally on Sunday, but I don't know any details.

Re: World Schools Selections
The situation has for some years been that the BSOA is an English team, although Welsh juniors are allowed in it by special arrangement. For the past 2 or 3 World Schools Champs, the Scottish have sent a separate team. I can't remember the precise reasons, beyond that it is simply due to the rules of the ISSF and is nothing to do with the Brits!

Re: World Schools Selections
A blatant plug, but I have just put the website for the World Schools Championships (Edinburgh 2008) online.
There will be some more photographs of the areas and a location map added in the next few days.
Visit the site now, www.wsco2008.org.uk

Re: World Schools Selections
Any idea where to find Scottish team selections. I haven't received results from the selection race yet and I was a competitor

There's always one more idiot than you expected, often it's me
