Don't know where you got the men's results from there mate. Oli and Rob Baker may be doing fine in the main competition but they weren't at the sprint race. You got the women's results correct though.
The top three men were
GG
Murray Strain
Nick Barrable
Full results will be posted as soon as poss. The EMIT UK boys don't have web access here and our webmaster just happens to be co-ordinator of the 6-Days so is a bit occupied elsewhere.
Thanks to everyone who turned up. Two weeks ago we got a 'phone call from the council in Inverness saying that we would have to cancel the event as they would "have to close off the streets" for such an event, clearly not having quite understood the concept of an o-sprint as opposed to a "road race". I think they may know now. 300 entries in total (almost exactly twice that at the last 6 Days). With 140 "entries on the day" we were under siege for a while and had to re-use maps for the Long course. I have had extra copies of the map printed now so that everyone who took part can get one. Anyone who had to hand in their map for reuse can collect a new copy at 6 Day information at tomorrow's event or at the event centre.

Eddie - Thanks for the comments.
I'm afraid the thing with the demo control was my fault.
It was actually after we stopped using it as the demo control and I put it back in the box (which just happened to be beside the download point). The fact that it was still "awake", people passing with an EMIT card within a couple of metres and combined with the fact that any EMIT control can be used as a finish control meant that 145 in effect become a "new" finish control thereby extending times. A valuable lesson has been learnt for the next time I use this type of control - Don't leave a live control between the finish line and the download.

I really enjoyed the race, despite being slow and punching the wrong last control

Super event even for a slow old blob like me!! Disappointed to go down in the results with the time from Downloading, not the Finish!! It added 10 minutes onto my time. I wasn't last, honestly!! Must get round to talking to Mr E Time about it!! Looks bad on my CV

For the unaware, another problem that affected some competitors times was the fact that runners after they had passed the finish control they then instead of going to download they went and spectated at controls 101 and 107, which of course activated their EMIT cards again. As far as I know Allan adjusted all competitors that were found to have had this problem.
A more concerning problem that I picked up on was the number of runners scaling the uncrossable fence between the park and the last controls. Also the number of competitors that admitted to going through the green built up areas, which are of course out of bounds. This could have been a problem if these areas were private gardens, however on this occassion I believe the area crossed was scrub land between houses. Hopefully all those that trangressed have now been briefed on the relevant rules and feature symbols for sprint races.
All said and done I believe the event was a success all competitors enjoyed their courses.

Thanks for the positive comments folks. It was quite an effort getting everything together, especially given that I live in Sweden and that our club was heavily involved in the organisation of the main 6 Days. A good deal of help was given by many people who I hope to thank personally in the coming days.
As regards the results, I know that a few things were still to be sorted out (such as adjustment to show the correct final control). Final results will be made available in due course.
As far as the Police road crossing is concerned, I'm pleased that someone has seen it as positive. We were asked to put this in place by the council (although even the police themselves did not deem it to be absolutely necessary). However, as no problems were reported there, it probably had a positive effect.
As regards Axel's comments about crossing of the fence, this did not cause me a problem with the landowner as such (although it could well have). As it was clearly marked as uncrossable, it is obvious that a number of people need to read up on their sprint race rules and regulations!
As regards running through green built up areas, I had not heard anything of this. I assume that it involves some of the small passages between gardens that may appear to be private land but are in fact fully accessible.

I saw and heard of quite a few runners who took the direct route through a large olive green area from 7 to 8 on the long course.
