In the light of the fairly regular discussion here about getting sufficiently long course distances, especially at the top end, would there be enough demand for an elite course at the Aire National Event in September on Attermire? There's no guarantee we will do it, but I'd like to gauge opinion. Would you come and run, even though I appreciate it's probably not the 'right' time for many? I'm obviously not asking for commitment, just an indication (there's also a regional event on Langstrothdale the next day to add to the temptation!).
At present, we are 'only' planning to L, and are currently looking at course distances in the region of M21L: 13.5km/450m, W21L: 9k/300m. 4 years ago, the M21L was 13.2k/460m won by Ed Nash in 84m, the W21L 9.5k/325m won by Catherine Wilson in 76m, but the area was a wee bit slower than now: the then recent foot and mouth had meant the area had not been grazed for a couple of years.
M21E would be around 16k, and W21E around 10k.
Feel free to respond here, or PM me.
Is there a demand for an elite at Nat Event in September?

Andy, posted a message on the GB Girls forum about this and no one replied saying they were coming and that they would like an elite distance course. I meant to email you about this ages ago but I forgot. There was appreciation that it may be offered is wanted though!
Will? We've got proper fire now!

Not the area you father's driving after you'd tried hard. He took you on the twisting roads to see Malham Tarn I believe and before we got there you were a trifle unwell

Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

Yes, but having checked with Ed and Duncan (2nd that day), they both reckon that it would have been won in around 77-78 if it had been a UK Cup race, so perhaps marginally long, but the area is now marginally faster...

Obviously too much fresh Yorkshire air!
