Hi there
I have been experimenting with the Active Ankle brace to protect my incredibly dodgy right ankle, but am finding it difficult to avoid humongous heel pressure blisters with the tightness of my VJ Twisters (which are great without the brace).
Thinking about buying different, less tight shoes (Falcons, maybe), I noticed the Jalas Cross Control which appear to integrate an Active Ankle-style brace into the shoe.
Does anyone have any experience of using these? Alternatively, do any Active Ankle users find particular shoes more accommodating? Any feedback gratefully received!

I wear mine with Tigers too and don't have any problems with blisters, although the Tigers were worn in already. I think your blisters might happen because the AA brace widens the shoe and therefore pulls the back of the shoe forward. Godders also wears Tigers with Active Ankle braces (or was at the PY'06 anyway)
Used to wear Twisters, but they slightly changed the last on them and I found the Tigers a better fit. I've also but a gel insole in them as the exisiting insoles became paper thin and were jarring on the stoney tracks.

Maybe...

For anyone that's interested, I tried on a pair of Olway Tigers and found them a bit loose (even with the brace) - probably just fell in the gap between sizes. Anyway, I bought a pair of the Jalas Cross Controls and (admittedly only after 4 events) have found them to be excellent - I'm really regaining my confidence running in terrain. Will report back if it all goes wrong!
Thanks for everyone's advice.
