Does anyone have any experience of using the Petzl Duo 5 LED headlamp? Ideally for Night O or just generally outdoors.
It retails £50-60, has halogen bulb, 4 hour duration, initial 100 metre light distance (falling to 70 metres after 30 minutes) and LED proximity light, running off 4AA/LR6 batteries. I am assuming this should be sufficient.
I want to try night O, however in East Anglia this is usually only 1 event/year (although we have BNC this year!! ), so am considering this as a compromise on cost versus the top-range £150+ Mila/Silva 480 I've seen recommended.
Anyone field tested the Peztl Duo or can suggest other sub-£50 lamps suitable?
Many thanks in advance.

I have used the PETZL MYO 3 HALOGEN LED HEAD TORCH and it is deffinatly worse than the high powered expensive torches from compass point/ ultrasport.
This headtorch was fine for wooded areas with reduced visability but it was a definate disadvantage at the Harvester.
The only difference that i can see between these two headtorches was is the LED distance, and the battery life. and price.

I use the myo 5 (not belt version). Its fine if you're only doing 1 or 2 night regionals a year but I wouldn't try and use it to win 21E at BNOC or anything like that
There's always one more idiot than you expected, often it's me
