my results page still shows Wingstedt and Hubmann out there, but with not much chance of changing the leading group.
Simone must have had phenomenal run to that first radio control.
Apart from it being in France, is this Thierry's home stamping ground then, or is he in the form of his life?
I'll be intrigued to hear the reports of what it was really lik eout there...

He's on home ground, he's been on a number of training camps there throughout the year, it's fairly unique terrain so you can't prepare adequately anywhere else, and he has something to prove after losing his world title back in August. There's also the fact that he's almost certainly the best technical orienteer of his generation.
To get an idea of the nature of the terrain and the level of preparation he's been doing, have a look at this training course from earlier in the year.

The wobble at 7 might be explained by the fact that he ran the course at night!
Cheers,

Good bunching from our crowd of young guys there in 30s. Can't wait to see the maps - I expected something totally different to what the sprint ones actually looked like after looking at the big names who crashed out! Another storming pair of runs from Helen and Mhairi too - 23rd must be Mhairi's lucky position!
Will? We've got proper fire now!
