Any news on how our orienteers got on at the rat race - no results around that I can find....

TNF won, 4 minutes ahead of Superfeet (the duncan) who were a further couple of minutes clear of Sleepmonsters (adventure racer & skyhigh) with Team Bedlam (P2B & bendover) comfortably in the top half.
fantastic race as ever, wish i'd stayed for the party given that i only got home at half 1!

sadly didn't get a picture of you doing that janine (good effort btw!) but TNF took at least 5 minutes to get over it which was highly amusing as you can see!
big to brucey though for just flying over it first time! this was after having already done an epic up and down the gorge to retrieve a team mates rucksack after about 70km of the course! (and some extra distance looking for a misplaced control , wasn't me who misplaced it tho)

Well done teams, it was very close.....
Glad the sunshine of Saturday didnt repeat itself as Extreme Medics would have been all over the place with people going down.
General atmosphere was great as well, lots of public showing interest.
That ramp was utterly butterly
edit - results are being checked as I type this by Gary T so should be up tonight perhaps

Thanks for that picture, Brooner. Had heard of said incident with Tom and Keith, but it's good to see the evidence (though by the sounds of things there should be some even more incriminating photos). We were certainly no more competent than them though.
Was wondering why there was an extra rucksack when we were at the bottom of the gorge - all was clear when Bruce came bounding down, but it was only later we found it it wasn't him who'd left it behind!
Was a top notch race - just kind of stressful up at the sharp end racing head to head all day.

That's a pretty good weekend for MADO then! First in the LAMM, 3rd in the Rat Race and there's 3 trophies on my table from the WM relays - Not to mention a prominent display at the 3 Counties Show - i feel a media frenzy coming on

i had to run for a train today with my bike and rucksack on.
it was humiliating and painful all at once.
loved my first adventure race. team bedlam (what the hell kind of a name is that) were well chuffed with our 30th position.
the worst part of the race was climbing a wire ladder about 30m up to crane. just soul destroying after 70km on a bike.
bring on adventure race number 2! pain=pleasure!!

Ahh the essential survival skill of lard climbing.
What would really really really make me laugh would be if someone would carry an ice axe round the whole course and upon arrival at the lard wall treat it with the contempt it deserves by whacking in the axe, scooting up the slope and leaving effing great holes as hand holds for anyone following.
This weekend I did a modicum of support for Simon Bourne on his sunny Saturday jaunt round the Bob Graham Round - 17hrs 20mins - 6th faster ever.
Now that is proper hard.

That was indeed a lot harder than I was expecting. You did know you weren't on the clock though?
Problem with the lard wall, Kitch, is that we didn't know it was coming until we got there - otherwise I'd just have had some O-studs with me!
