Skype advice
Not really banter at all, but never mind. Anyone know much about Skype? I have a headset which works fine if I test it on the built in Windows XP test, but when I try and call on Skype, people get the first second or so of what I say then it cuts off. Any ideas?
Will? We've got proper fire now!

i use skype a fair bit, especially the skype out, which basically means you buy credit and can ring home phones. Try ringing someone else, and you might get better reception. It seems some net-net lines are perfect, better than a normal phone, but then again some are awful, chance is you rang an awful one.. maybe

Go orienteering in Great Britain......... its financially better off than Australia:)

Google Talk has a voice over ip function which is pretty good and lightweight. I recommend installing that to see if it works. You can then take skype out of the equation for being the culprit and you should be able to find the problem and fix it.

I only ever seem to get skype to work on a very fast internet connection. seems to work ok on broadband but I've never managed to get it to work on dial up. There's an msn chat thing you could try as well if you want to rule out where the problem is.
does it cut out if you try the skype text chat thing too?
