Less than a week to the closing date for entries for the Harvester. RR have set up a webpage for anyone without a team to put them in touch with others in the same position and get an ad hoc run. Find at http://www.lknox.me.uk/hnomates.html
or via the RR website.

The courses seem pretty long on the 5 man courses I know the terrain is going to be fast but is there climb as well? We are hoping to get three teams but the lengths are putting off some of our youngsters and also me. I don't do a lot of night O and said I'd run if necessary, so would do the short leg, which I believe is 4K and TD2/3. We have a very experienced W70 who would run a short technical course, but finds she is not competitive on the TD2/3 due to her age. There arn't many womens courses that are 8K unless you run W21, so two 8K legs seems a little OTT.

also sent an email to go on the "No mates" page.
I'm looking for a team, anyone looking for a team member?
I'll run any leg, if someone can offer a decent head-torch for the night.
I'm going to be at the event anyway so would like a run.

EDIT - got a run now

In response to Hocolites comment about the length of courses. Last years courses were 8.9km, 6.7km & 4.9km on the B. Granted there was less climb last year but this year there are no nasty trees or brashings or brambles or even nettles to slow you down. The recommended winning time for B is 5 hours.

It's OK the entry is in the post I just thought that the reason that entries are not wonderfully high might be the lengths, as generally night champs lengths tend to be shorter. We might need to avail of some of the runners 'without portfolio', we're awaiting a decision on schools athletics plus other volunteers, it looks as though our womens only team might be scuppered though.

Well, actually Fatboy wasn't wrong if you look at the date of his post (i.e. 2005 - he was referring to last year's event!)
However, you do at least have this year's times correct.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.

HOC for junior relay on B:
Robert Farrington
Daniel Hartmann
possibly Susan Ford or Holly or Sam
Chris Embrey
Lizzie White
How many other junior teams have three people who qualified for FCC final.
