Zermatt Swiss O week

I have just entered the swiss O week in Zermatt but there is no online payment method. I was wanting to know how other people have paid, if I use a telegraphic transfer from my bank they will charge me £25 and i dont want to pay that.
Does anyone know if you can write a cheque in swiss francs on a normal cheque.

this is a common problem for entering events abroad, especially if its just you entering so the percentage cost is much higher.

your best plan is to get in touch with the event organisers and moan about the british banking system and praise the crazy swiss banks with their nazi gold reserves and numbered accounts and ask if you can just pay cash when you arrive.

not sure if the swiss will go for it, but it worked for us for the latvian and lithuanian events last year. just as well, since the total for entry camping and buses was £20!

Speak to your bank about doing a "Relay" payment. It takes a bit longer to go through (about 5 days) but costs a flat fee of £10 per transaction. It's how I have paid for the Swiss O. You have to go into a branch to do it; you can't do it by phone or online. Take your passport with you as you may get asked for additional id.

As it happens I got an email back from the organiser today and they will let me pay for the event when I get there.

Grudging congratulations. I paid the £24 bank charges and then wrote to the organiser. A painful mistake.
