Results from the OOO7 weekend are now uploaded at ukcupdb.
For the BEOC Middle at Fonthill, all classes running the Open courses (18-35) have been taken for the ukcup, and not only the elite/championship classes. This is following the logic used for the BEOC sprints, where results in all classes on the open courses have been taken (in 2004 at any rate). There doesn't seem to be a clear rule on this, so I've made it up as I go along. If anyone wants to discuss whether all classes or only elite/championship classes should count then feel free to do so here or start a topic in the main discussion forum, and I and/or ECSG will make a decision/clarify the rules for next year (for this year it probably stays as it is unless ECSG object strongly!).
Note that some fantasy team payments have been received and the database not yet updated (GG is in Norway, where they don't have computers or internet...)

Ed, I think you should probably include Rhodri Buffett. He is on the results as n/c because he started outside the elite start block but his time puts him in 4th place I think. If you are including anybody running the open course rather than just those included in the elite champs then Rhodri should definitely be in.

yep, i agree with Neil. Just include them along with everyone else, they ran the same course, even if there were a few extra tracks out.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.

agree with including the open course people but I think Rhodri was nc becasue he missed his [elite] start time and didn't want 66mins or whatever in the results. Myself and Iain Embrey briefly spoke to him about it after the prizegiving to find out why and I was beaten by juniors on the open course so didn't feel right being in third place

I didn't miss my start time, the elite start block was early and i couldn't make it to the event in time, so i started in with the people running the open class (same course) about half an hour after the last elite, at the start time that i was given (which was the earliest i could get there)understand i should be non comp for british elite champs as didn't start within the start block, but for UK cup points surely myself and rhodri should be on same terms as those running open?
The ruth is on fire

ok - I wasn't aware of the circumstances, and the ukcup rules say that non-comps don't count. results and standings are now updated including Rhodri and Ruth's results, and I will try and get some clarification / make up some clearer rules for the future.

Hang on, from what I understand Rhodri and Ruth's situations are not the same and so shouldn't be treated the same. Ruth started on time, but Rhodri started late and took a punching start as opposed to having a huge first split. Therefore Ruth should get UK cup points but not Rhodri. Though I wasn't there so feel free to correct that if I've misunderstood.

Hang on, either Rhodri was non-competitive, or he took 66 minutes because he missed his start time.
Muppet
- just winding him up
A couple of top races in the last two weeks at JOK and BMEOC. The boy is flying, great to see.
By the way, why hasn't there been an interview with Rhodri ? - you had one with the Baker boy, and Rhodri cuffed him.

rhodri was down as n/c because he missed his elite start time, he missed it because originally he'd been given an M18 (open)start time for later on, and hadnt wanted to run elite as he knew he wouldnt get there early enough..and didnt realise he'd been moved to elite untill he arrived at assembly.. so didnt have time to get ready for his elite start..
so he wasnt competitive for elite but should still get uk cup points.
