British Orienteering Championships Weekend 20-21 March 2004 Due to severe weather conditions at Simonside, Friday March 19, during preparations it has been decided to re-locate the parking and assembly fields. They will be further away from the Starts than originally planned. Please allow extra time for this. Directions to the event from Rothbury remain the same

[rant]Another top quality bit of useful information... parking is going to be further away. 100m? 1km? 10km?
Allow extra time. 1 minute? 10 minutes? an hour?
and abolutely nothing about it on the event website itself
anyone want to give odds on that old favourite of major british events - starts being put back an hour? I'll say it's 2-1 on. I certainly wouldn't bet against it (although probably Middleditch would )[/rant]

its 35deg and sunny in Kampot, Southern Cambodia. However the Cambodian Orienteering Championships is in turmoil. The moped and cow parking has been moved 4km away due to discovery of 1200 unexploded landmines, and a rampaging elephant has escaped onto the mapped terrain. starts are expected to be put back 3 days. Sport Ident punching is also down due to all of the units being stolen and sold on the black market as sex toys, so competitors will have to collect mosquito bites from each control site as evidence of visiting. The vietnamese team have been disqualified for trying to import chickens when crossing the border. and you thought NEOA had problems.

Arse. At home with [nope] inerweb connection, so only looked at the BOC results last night, not nopesport. This involved looking at two web-sites: BOF and BOC, neither of which mentioned the fact that today's event was cancelled. BOF news section said somick about the car park being moved, BOC said nowt. That'll be a three hour round trip wasted then... frzzlefrzzlefrzzlegrmph...
