Welsh Weekend - 4th & 5th March - READ!!!

Hi,
Before leaving for the event please check the club web site, http://www.sboc.org.uk The areas have been snow covered for a few days and a course inspection is being carried out tomorrow for both areas. Competitor safety is paramount and with all the rock and limestone we need to be certain that you will all return safely.

A bulk email will be going out tonight from the organiser to all competitors, but keep checking the web site.

Dear Lynden,

Following inspection of both areas earlier today, we do not feel there are sufficient reasons to cancel the event. So we look forward to seeing you all there (and hope that snow in your area will not prevent you from getting here).
WHISTLES and CAGOULES will be COMPULSORY BOTH DAYS (even if it is sunny like today). We recommend that you have something warm with you on your run - if you needed to walk back or were injured you could get very cold very quickly.
Day 2 access up the hill is ok now, but the flat car park area is snowy/icy so take care. Competition area has patchy snow of various depths. This will slow you down and also in the rocky areas the extent of the rock is hidden to some extent so greater care is needed.
Day 1 area stillhas several inches of snow on it but we think it still manageable. The risk of elephant tracks forming may be offset by increased technical/physical difficulty - but you probably wouldn't follow someone else's tracks anyway(!) [We'll send out the SBOC helpers first - you definitly don't want to follow their tracks!! ]
Car parking is still a problem - please follow instructions and take care. The access roads are clear. We may use some small car parks which would mean a 500m walk for some.

We look forwad to seeing you. Both areas today were beautiful in the claer sunshine with little wind. Hope it stays like that! I shall update the web site (http://www.sboc.org.uk) with this message and maybe a little more information, so you if you can check it out - after about 6.30pm.

Yep, can confirm that the weekend is on, check the SBOC website for more details (Cagoules compulsory), just got in from my leaving do (after 15 years with the same company!!!!) hope I put the controls in the right place tomorrow!!! for you to find on Sunday.
