I really enjoyed the snowboard cross but was a bit miffed by some things.
As Jonathan Ross said "if they really wanted to get down the hill quicker they would be in skin tight lycra not posing in their expensive jackets with ipods in their ears".
Also if you crashed out and it was someone elses fault your out aswell. What?

I run this empty wood, along the o-course of broken dreams, my shadow's the only who runs beside me, and each time he absoloutely destroys me.

I watched the snowboard parellel giant slalom this afternoon, that was very enjoyable, 2 brothers won as well, which was nice.
They should so bring head to head orienteering into international competition, I mean its been done before with the cambridhe knockout sprint o, certainly adds a spectator element to it.

I remember Niall saying last week that there was an Irish orienteer going to the Games, so i guess it is the same Rory Morrish you know.

Why is it that the press continually referred to the womens curling team as Rhona Martin, as though the rest were non existant but the men seem to be the British team. The skip does get a bit more publicity but the others do exist. Also any of you Scots no how many of the team in general are Scots. I guess a fairly high proportion.

What you need for XC skiing / biathlon is Eurosport, not BBC interactive. When I've been in I've recorded Eurosport and watched what I'm recording on BBC interactive just for the amusement value of listening to commentators who don't know much about the sport. Eurosport have Patrick Winterton and Mike Dixon who know what they're talking about - Dixie spent over 10 years on the world cup biathlon circuit.
I think I must have over 20 hours recorded now, so no problem with sport to watch over the next few weeks!

Hocolite - I reckon almost half the British team are Scots. A quick head count of those I know gives 17 and if I remember right there are 39/40 in the team, so a large percentage.

yeah, but i don't have eurosport, so interactive was best i could do,.
but all the commentators on bbc know jack, other than the alpine ski commentators, and why did they have a horse fronting the show?
the xc/biathlon commentry was comical, he just got all the names wrong, had no idea what was going on, and was generally a numpty!

Yes, very strange being used to listening to Patrick and Mike, and then hearing the BBC commentators mispronouncing everybody. I reckon they must have been frantically revising from the Ladybird book of Biathlon before the events! You do wonder how hard it would have been to get somebody in alongside the normal commentator who actually had a clue - I could have done a better job.

Have watched with envy the skiing (downhill/Xcountry) and awe the luge/skeleton. Enjoyed trying to explain the arials/ski jumping to Teenie ("Have they gone mad?"), and woken up to snow this morning. We're off to recreate our own winter Olympics on Milford Common
Roll on Commonwealth games...("Run and jump, run and jump", "Weeee.. jump into a sandpit", "Weeee...splash on a bouncy castle").
