yeah, but you have to be sad enough to actually go and find the BOC 97 website, or do you have them all in your favorites:

i remember it well - clumber park, and there was me, a little 14 yr old being asked to run 10.6km. i recall i did pretty shocking, craney caught and overtook me with ease, i ended up being about 15mins down. thankfully i wasn't doing the M21E, i recall they had a rather long 21km!
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.

ahh good old clumber park....
I think i ran up that year. Brooner you travelled with me and Fraser?
it was fun.. it was the time of the cup final between Boro' and Chelsea i think. All the supporters were on the road going south. Boro' lost.
Anyways 11 or something had 7km or something stupid. Chris mitchell caught me at number 1. I ran with him the whole way. He did a 180 at the second last control?!
beat him by 10mins

Don't remember catching and passing you Nixon (happens a lot) but do remember being beaten by some punter from SROC (who'd already had the cheek to win the JK) by 10 seconds. Git. And we were miles ahead of anyone else.

Well i'm sure that's all very interesting but while you lot remember the good old days I'm sitting here looking at a handsome wooden toilet brush and wondering what fate will befall it - I think I'll screw the brush into the holder incase someone like Eddie wins it and uses it in the loo before it's represented next year

i am currently constructing a hugely complicated formula for handicapping for the JK run in, a combination of speed for the course, your age, speed for penulitmate - last control (so if you wait you get punished), and some other random extranious variables.
