Hope everyone had a good weekend, despite the fun at the curry house, and the replacement of refreshers punch with a worryingly strong apple alternative! Full results should hopefully be up on the CUOC website soon, but for those who can't wait that long.....
Men's race was won in relatively convincing fashion by Neil Northrop, winning each of the 3 rounds, and finishing ahead of Rob Little, Mat Dickinson and Dave Hodkinson. The closest finishes were in the semis with Neil holding off Rob by just 8 seconds, and Andrew Powell just missing out on a chance to break up the ShUOC dominance in the final, being outsprinted by Mat.
The women's race was much tighter, with a different winner in each round. Just over 30 seconds separated the top 3 in the final, with Hazel Tant's decent lead at the halfway point proving enough for victory over Eleanor West, Rosemary Dyer and Nicola Robertson.
Neil Northrop finished off a succesful weekend by defending his alcO title, and duly dowing the supplied bottle of wine in an impressive 15 seconds, (though surely using 2 straws is cheating?)
Well done to everyone who took part, and if anyone has any suitably incriminating pictures (from the event or aftermath) , e-mail them to me, and I'll try and get them put up on the CUOC website!

That could explain the strange smell my friend has been complaining about coming from the corner of her room....
P.S. Like the report on osnow, but don't be too harsh on the poor old forum - it has....erm....character?
