Even world champion orienteers have been beaten by the Transient Thermal response/Law of Conservation of Energy:
The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy conservation must take place in a human for that human to succeed in an activity, such as orienteering, and hence so that the energy store may not become low or empty. A cycle would normally include energy 'build-ups' before the activity (correct and sufficent water/lucozade preparation), energy 'top-ups' ("Drinks Stations") during the activity, and finally energy 'refills' ("Wilf's") after the activity.
