UK Cup 2 Hambledon
Does anyone know any more about the format of this "mass start long" at Hambledon for the second UK Cup Race? Details are a bit thin on the ground on the flyer. Me is thinking that perhaps it will be one of my tactical misses...

lengths get releaseed with the final details, as will gaffling, but whether its gaffled or nont doesnt make a differencee does it. You just run the course that is printed on you map, you'll know if people going to the same place as you by the fact that you will go the same way.
One event that definetly does need more info is the BEOC Sprint & Middle, is there any website?

It does make a difference to me. My running still isn't quite up to speed and my priority for the early season in the Varsity Match the week later. I'd rather not kill myself on a long cross country style single course the week before. But if it's gaffled or has varying loops then I'll give it a go.
As you have said a billion times, it's all about priorities isn't it? And about enjoyment. I just need a bit more info then I can make an informed decision about mine. So less of the "wit."

Well being a UK Cup one could safely suggest that there would be some sort of gaffeling involved.
However I fail to see the destinguished difference between non-gaffled and gaffled. You run how you want, knnowing that varsity is the next week. Don't let you race be governed by the people you are racing against. Only you can make tthe judgement.
However distance surely isn't the important thing, its winning time aint it?

I wouldn't say it's a distinguished difference as such, just that I'll enjoy a gaffled race and being slightly off the pace isn't as much as a problem if I want to take it easier. If it's non gaffled I'd rather run the normal long course. More a personal preference then a discernable difference.

Well I certainly agree a looped race with gaffels would be a lot more fun compared to the tedious affair of a mass start cross country race.
Heather managed a rapid 5.7 mpk at the JK, i have no idea what the EWT is for W21 at UK cup, but if youu do you can work it out, going on a bout 6m/ks
