Any ideas
I've noticed from doing circuits for the last two weeks that I seem to be wonky. My left side is always much tighter which means doing some of the stuff especially on the arms is pretty difficult when you're trying to get an even movement. It gets my legs on high knees aswell so I'm guesisng it's something core related. Was just wondering if any of you have any advice for exercises or stretches as I really can't afford a physio! I pulled my back a couple of months ago...could be something to do with that I guess?

erm...we got some stuff from the squad on that kinda stuff, although cant really explain it on this...maybe we should go for tea and crumpets one time, yours or mine?

i got told that i am naturally right side dominant, muscle on right side of body were stronger than left (especially arm). This caused me to wobble a bit on the fitball, but with some work i sorted it out.
Have you got a fitball? i could show you the leaflet, or any other squaddies you know, with exercises you can do.

I do have a fitball but it's presently punctured - I may have to fix it and get going. I've got a few of my old squad leaflets on what kind of exercises to do, may have a look through them. Cheers Scotia.

don't know if it's quite the same, but over xmas i got tested for leg length, and discovered that my right leg was half an inch longer than my left. although i never experienced any problems of wonky-ness, it is apparently quite a common thing (so said 'The Sun' in an article on the male Becks having one leg longer than the other), so this maybe why. it is also possible to have your body weighed with particular bits sectioned out, so that u can see how heavy your right leg is for example, or whether your left side is heavier than ur right (well, they certainly do it here in Leeds, not sure if it's a common procedure).
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.

aye i had the same problem with differing leg lengths, caused much pain in my hip until i got it sorted with plenty stretching excercises. Don't think it's likey to be the same sort of problem tho you never know.

Actually ian i've noticed that one leg is shorter than the other, when you on the run in, your head bobs, but only on the right leg..
Brooner is there anything that hasn't been broken/curently broken with you?...actually don't go there!
Actually i have the same problem i always get injuries on my right side. Generally its because the muscles are having to compensate more, so they then pull harder, causing spasms, tears etc. I also find that my running style is also to blame (generally keep your hands below your head ) , no what i mean is that you stronger leg always leads, and the other one follows it. So lots of exercises and stretching of your weaker leg/side, and when your doing circuits, or running on the road, consiously think about the weaker one matching the stronger one. I sometimes find myself saying go, go, go in my head for the weaker leg.
Anyways rambling over, not a big problem, just work on the weaker side.

I used to be wonky too, the muscles in the right side of my back are massively stronger than the ones in the left...
i saw a physio about it a few years ago when i had problems and really the best thig to do is do loads and loads of stretches on the side thats tight, and not stretch much on the side that isnt tight and then they even up again!

Groovy - I reckon it must be something back/core ish as I just realised today I can't signal left when I cycle anymore either, my balance just isn't there...whereas I could signal right forever if I wanted. Let the stretching begin!
