this probably ought to go on the events bulletin board.
Harlequins Committee decided last night to extend the closing date for the Haugh Wood Regional (Badge) Event near Hereford on October 24 until Friday October 15th with NO late entry charge.
The event has not been well publicised due to last minute uncertainty about it's exact status but HOC are pressing ahead with a regional event and hope the orienteering community will support it.
Haugh Wood was last used for the British Individual Champs in 2000 and so is a good quality area - the event is enhanced for those considering travelling any distance by a night event on the previous evening at Malvern Hills South, grid ref SO768381 (part of the Western Night League - one hour score format.). Registration from 6pm.
Entries for the Badge event can be made on-line at http://www.harlequins.org.uk. If you should find you have been charged a late entry supplement - this will be refunded on the day.

Good to see Herefordshire is still on the fixtures list.
Just to clarify one thing, Haugh Wood was the individual day in 2000, the bit where the long courses started, not the steep re-entranty bit later on.
The relays were at Penyard Hill , a site of special bramble interest., on the northern edge of Dean.

Double booked, got a birthday/1000th marilyn party near Laganlia of all places...
And United are at Carlisle.. Why does everything happen in the same week. I am watching the fixture list(s) for a chance to come down. though.
also carrying a knock, havent a clue if I will be "running" that week. Still hoping to make Loch Doon though.,

Night events
I note from Mrs H's posting re the Haugh Wood event, that there is a night event on the previous night. Why is there no publicity about this? What has happened to all the night events in the West Midlands? Are any more of them taking place? Help me - I need a night 'fix' and cannot travel to South Wales and Gloucestershire - we used to have a good league in the WM - will anyone revive it?

I am led to believe this is part of the western night league, i.e the gloucestershire/wiltshire/south wales league
