What paper do clubs use when getting maps printed professionally. We currently use Xerox Never Tear (I think that is what it is called), which is great from a waterproof perspective, but is difficult to handle as competitive - it doesn't fold easily.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Map Paper
I understand Hassall & Lucking use Coated Pretex. They seem have solved the problem with toner rubbing off when damp maps are repeatedly folded.

One trick I have been told of (for use on my £200 home laser printer) is to set the paper to "thick paper/card" as this slows down the paper feed and so increases the time/heat of the printer, thus baking the toner on better.
For commercial printers with £50k laser printers I assume this is less of an issue which is why their maps, generally, suffer less wear than those from a cheapie printer.

Re: Map Paper
LOC and the rest of the NW buy and use Pretex (I am the current 'buyer' for the region and beyond - last collective order was approx 184K of A4/A3!!!). Usually bought in bulk and trimmed by a local printers in Kendal. Generally seems OK - nice to use (can sometimes get pages sticking together, so either really good fanning or separate the pages when loading the printer). I use 'Thick paper 2' on the printer settings which minimises wear, and the printer is a semi-commercial Xerox Bizhub C254.

Re: Map Paper
Is there somewhere online I can buy A4 Pretex?
I'm going through a lot of permanent course maps with my kids and normal printer paper doesn't cut it. I have tried laminating them but then they don't fold easily in small hands.

Excelman - for small quantities, look at the Aqualazer waterproof paper from Aquascribe.

Try David Ritchie at A4printers in Inverness - he supplies small amounts of pre-cut Pretex at a very reasonable price
