Sunday 5th February is also final closing for the British Nights. And it's first closing for the British Long Distance Champs, part of the BOC weekend. So please enter this week and save yourself a few pounds

Are you thinking of running up (several classes) again?

Surely estimated winning time is what you need? This is set out in the relevant event rules. For M21E on Day 3 it's 90 to 100 minutes (so getting on for 2.5 hours for me )
All other courses are a ratio of M21E so you can calculate roughly how long you can expect to be out on whichever course/class you opt for.

I could do with fewer arithmetical puzzles and more useful information

Yeah, but if the distances are really long, it means its nice and runnable so you can run up. If the distances are really short its rough and horrible, so better to run down. At least, that's my theory

I'm completely the opposite to Graeme. The rougher the better
Anyway it's the Lakes we've talking about so know from experience what to expect. My guess for M21E on Day 3 is 14.8km with 600m of climb.

Maybe the message hasn't got through yet but, with effect from February 1st this year, the IOF's gender policy regarding equality of Men's and Women's winning times comes into force at all levels, from WOC to WREs (and Day 3 is a WRE)
This makes no difference for Sprint and Middle races as winning times are the same for both Men and Women already, but has a big effect on Long races where there has traditionally been a big gap.
The difference is so big that the gap is being closed in two stages as follows:
Stage 1 (2023): Women 80 - 84 mins ... Men 88 - 92 mins
Stage 2 (2024): Women 88 - 92 mins ... Men 88 - 92 mins

Re: JK 2023 Lake District
That seems an extraordinarily precise range for the planner to aim for.
I guess it should only effect courses 1 & 3, with all the other courses planned to ratios of a nominal 95 minute course.

Although if the message hasn't got through to you yet, don't feel too bad, as since this was originally announced the IOF has changed its mind about how the new Long course lengths are going to be defined and the rules setting this out were only published on Monday.
Personal view: this is definitely a step in the right direction, but I'm disappointed that they didn't go for something closer to 95 minutes.
