In October you have 2 chances to spend an orienteering weekend in the East.
If you like a mix of forest and urban, then the 9/10th is for you. Bush Heath (WAOC) in Thetford Forest on the saturday, followed by the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds (SUFFOC) on the Sunday.

If you are an urban connoisseur, then you will love the 30/31st, with the historic cities of Cambridge (CUOC) on the saturday and Norwich (NOR) on the Sunday. In an effort to refute the claim that East Anglia is flat, the Norwich map has been extended to include the infamous Gas Hill, which makes Lincoln's Steep Hill look like a speedbump.

These events are also part of the UK Orienteering League.

Blatent plug - if you are too far N & W for WAOC, entries are now open on Fabian 4 for Northwich urban on Sunday 10 October.

Wanted to, but clashes with Claro's Yorkshire Middles/Elite Race at the very entertaining Plumpton Rocks, with Aire hosting Elite (and others!) sprint race on the Saturday on Miles Hill - cracking urban estate. Sadly, not a lot on the weekend before or after for those not wanting/able to travel to Devon (>1000 km round trip in our case) or eligible for CSCup/Trophy final (i.e. most of us).

1000km - probably won't be able to travel 1000m let alone 1000km if fuels shortages continue

Re: 2 East Anglian weekends
Can anyone explain what's been happening with the results? They are not on the BOF website, although ranking points have been awarded. The points for course 3 look sensible, but the ones for Courses 4 and 5 are weird - people finishing mid table on course 5 (ultravet ladies) are getting over 1200 points), and the leader on course 4 got 1404 points. In contrast the winner of course 1 was only awarded 1214, which doesn't look right...

The Cambridge results have been re-uploaded by CUOC today, so perhaps there was an error that has now been fixed.
