Apparently they're not. SI entries says entries have closed.
The ESOC website says entries only for 'eligible Scots'.
Does that mean we English are not welcome?

Closed entries - a little Is glitch, been sorted so open again now.
Scots only - I think it was decided that with the entry limit, eligible Scots should be allowed first dibs at the entries, since it is "their" Championship.

Sorry about the problem, entries now open again. Some age classes were missing
Entries will be open until Sunday 30th May 2021 for 'Eligible Scots' and then reopen until 3rd June 2021 for everyone with a limit of 500 participants.

Re: Scottish Championships 13th June 2021
What sort of Orienteering Apartheid is being introduced here?
Family from England always attends Scottish Champs. Mum is Scots born, Dad is English, two kids are Scots by dint of Mum.
What do they do?
A. Family travels and Dad stays in car fuming = family feud
B. Mum and Kids travel, Dad stays at home = family feud
C. Family waits until 1st June to enter = family feud
D. Family stays at home and Boycotts event = family feud
BTW Mum is White and Dad is Black so the outcome of the policy, whilst not the intent, is race discrimination.

I don't really agree with you on the racial discrimination point as I think it is clear that there is no intention to discriminate against black people, and indeed many white Caucasian people with no Scottish parents wouldn't be able to enter this event at present either (myself for example).
Leaving that aside, I do appreciate that you make some valid points, and can appreciate that the dilemma that you are in is frustrating.
I think though that we just have to accept that the world is not perfect at the moment, and personally I am very grateful for all the organisers, planners, controllers who are going the extra mile - jumping through loopholes and negotiating with the authorities to put on events at the moment. It seems like we are on the road back to normality, and hopefully by staging this event successfully they will be able to negotiate higher entry limits in future.
I hope so anyway as we have entered a different event in Scotland in the not too distant future, but if they do unfortunately have to cancel that one then no worries - we will go on some nice walks up some Munros and a trip to Skye - Scotland is in any case fairly high up the list of nice places to go on holiday at the moment what with most of the world being not an option.

Re: Scottish Championships 13th June 2021
I presumed the poster was not being serious. The competition is the Scottish champs. It is trying to find the Scottish champion. We are operating within a strict Covid-related entry limit. The options are:
1. Open the entry to all eligible and hope all eligible that want to compete get an entry then offer spare entries to anyone else who wants to compete.
2. Open the entry to all from the outset with the risk that some of those eligible who want to compete might not be able to enter and thus invalidating the competition.
3. Just not hold the event.
Option 1 is by far the best option, and is the one that has been chosen.

No issue with choosing option 1 from those choices.
But if administratively possible it would make sense to open up any spare availability first to any (non-eligible) close family members of those who have already entered, before a free-for-all to everyone else.
As well as reducing possible family strife, it would probably also reduce any Covid transmission risk (compared to the alternative).

Re: Scottish Championships 13th June 2021
RoT's scenatio does not apply solely to families of mixed colour - "Mum is Scots born, Dad is English, two kids are Scots by dint of Mum" applies precisely to us.
As we emerge from lockdown, many clubs have either restricted entries to only club members, or allowed club members to enter first and then let others fill any remaining spaces. The Midlands Champs this coming this weekend (at 1-day SINS) has applied the same approach.
In the current circumstances I think this is totally reasonable.
It is not very long since those of us living south of the border were not allowed to cross.

This issue might now be academic for me and others living in the 8 areas of England where the government has advised against travel into and out of the local area.
It does however raise issues about the validity of the upcoming British Middle Champs and Northern Champs...

Re: Scottish Championships 13th June 2021
IOF considered this problem (and consulted national federations) a while back in the context of the forthcoming World Championships. They were aware of the need to try and give some sort of certainty of the status of the event and to minimise the likelihood of last minute changes to that status.
Their outcome was that the event will retain World Championship status provided 4 of the top 6 ranked nations and 6 of the top 10 ranked nations can send teams.
In the current situation that seems pretty sensible and pragmatic (and there are always reasons on various sorts why individuals are unable to compete at particular events).
I would support the various British championship events scheduled for the rest of this year taking a similar pragmatic approach.

Why did I do that...

I’d support the various British champs even if they were rebranded as colour coded events (or whatever we now call colour coded events...). If my course is now called a blue, but it’s still a really well planned course around Summerhouse Knott / High Dam I’d be there. I suspect many others would be too. Sympathies to Homer though. How very frustrating.

Don't worry Housewife, I'll be there unless the organisers/BOF tell me that I'm not allowed. It is only advice at this stage.
Kirklees is a large area geographically and the high infection rates are at the far end of area from where I live. Also I'm pretty antisocial so have had very few contacts
