Re: European Champs now on!
It would be useful to have some feedback about the quality of the TV production from anyone who saw the English language webcast last weekend.
So, any thoughts about this ... ?

I thought the TV production for the race I watched (the KO Sprint) was very good (lots of cameras on the course and informed commentary) but let down by the pretty useless tracking system. Obviously tracking in urban settings is problematic so the ‘watch’ would have been improved with the course and map on display in a split screen (or just inset into the top corner of the screen) so that you could see what the route choices were as they were being made. Otherwise, it was very hard to follow why runners were making their choices.
But a good watch nonetheless.

There's a thread on Attackpoint where similar comments are made to Mikey's.

Yes, there is. But it would be good to have a UK view as well ...

Re: European Champs now on!
I doubt many Brits bothered paying for coverage considering the lack of a full team [I didn't]. Like most World Cups it was always going to be a Swiss / Swedish procession (apart from Yannick ), and many people don't find sprints nearly as interesting to watch as forest races. Considering I paid £20 to watch a year's worth of cycling, 12 euros for 3 days of competition doesn't seem like value for money. That said, the comments I've seen online about the TV production seem positive.
BUT
I did try to view the live GPS, and even allowing for the accuracy (or lack of) of the tracks I have to say the Tractrac app is a crime against interface design. Despite being familiar with GPS Seuranta, Loggator, Livelox, and two versions of Routegadget, I still can't get it to do anything useful. How anyone can think it a reasonable option is beyond me, but I gather they are contracted to do all the World Cups. Nice one IOF!
