What do people think of Podium Catering?
How is the quality / quantity of the food?
Pricing?
Selection?
Better or worse than other vendors at orienteering events?

Re: Podium catering
Personally I love it. Thinking about that edible chili bowl (with avo AND sour cream, of course) makes me salivate already. The only minor negative is that I find the staff a bit grumpy generally, but it's a tough gig.
The prices are definitely above average but so is the quality. I guess ideally you'd have a burger van and Podium, to cater for all tastes.

I think their chilli bowls and homemade cakes are fantastic. Not a huge range and a bit pricey, but good value imo.

Agree - we generally have one savoury and one cake between us as the portions are generous - makes it quite reasonably priced.

Me too - good quality but a bit more expensive than most of the competition. Their soup is also good.

Sign of the times I suppose that the 'soup is also good' is the latest post on an orienteering web forum

Podium are my personal favourite, but pricey. Our kids prefer ONosh.

What is the current status of traders - food and equipment? Thinking ahead to Lochaber 2021 (hoping it happens) not sure who might be interested in coming - Tom and Julie expressed interest but that's it at the moment. No Ultrasport I guess but are CompassPoint still trading? They of course are ONosh too.

Try some of the local traders - I always reckon you get good service from them and they can scale up/down more quickly depending on how things go.

Re: Podium catering
I reckon we should give preference to the regular orienteering traders where possible as they give week in week out service to the sport supporting smaller events that local traders probably wouldn't be bothered with and need the bigger events to balance the books.
