Re: Compass Point
Great to see CompassPoint back in action and thanks for their continued support for the Scottish Orienteering League. New range of shoes "Crafted by Thierry Gueorgiou" from nviisport - did the business at Hambleden but blister on one heel with their first outing.
Fac et Spera. Views expressed are not necessarily those of the Scottish 6 Days Assistant Coordinator

Re: Compass Point
Compasspoint was at the Scottish middles on Saturday (and I assume at CompassSport cup on Sunday). Hope he did good business and that the online side keeps things ticking over. I think he's getting some more Icebugs soon - Yahoo!

Re: Compass Point
Compass Point seem to be back in action - just received a new compass for Micro Buzz within 2 days of ordering.
I'm sure they would appreciate online orders now that some of us are starting to get back orienteering. I see that they have some shoes at sale prices.

Re: Compass Point
Has anyone else any opinion about the nviisport shoes?
I need a shoe with a very wide and high toebox (arthritic toes).
VJ Falcon were always recknoned to be the widest, but even they are now causing me problems. Shoes big enough at the front slop around at the heel and cause blisters.
Thanks

Re: Compass Point
The latest Falcons have got a lot narrower, so that might be why. I've the same 'wide foot' problem so I've been trying to buy up the old generation ones!
When I spoke to nvii a year ago they didn't have any wide shoes yet but this may have changed - so I too would be interested in any feedback people might have.

Re: Compass Point
I'm starting to think no-one makes Oshoes for wide feet.
For cycling shoes, American brands tend to be wider, so does anyone have experience of American brands of Oshoes, please?
Sorry, I have gone well off topic here, but the review section isn't very active

Re: Compass Point
I'm not sure there is any such thing as an American brand of O shoes.
I suggest you try the Attackpoint discussion board.

Re: Compass Point
Karen, like you I found that the old style VJ Falcons were the only O shoes wide and high enough for my feet. About 6 months ago, when all UK stocks were sold out, I managed to purchase 2 pairs from OL-SHOP.at in Austria. Looking at their website, it seems that all sizes from UK 7 - 9.5 are out of stock, but 6.5 and under are still available. Good luck, and let me know if you find another suitable alternative, which I'll need when I've worn these out. BTW, one of the pairs they sent me were the very old style without the rubber toe cap stitched. I managed, with difficulty, to successfully stitch this myself with twine from the local fishing tackle shop, breaking several stout needles in the process!

Re: Compass Point
Thanks everyone.
I'll have a look at OL-shop to see if they have anything for my short wide feet.
And if I find any alternatives, I will put them on the reviews section.

Re: Compass Point
I got my old style VJs from AirXTrem in France, and the Finnish O shop had a pair too - so it's definitely worth googling around. Although it's not exactly a long term solution...

Re: Compass Point
Got a prompt reply from nviisport
"A tricky question. Right now all our shoes are with a medium toe box so I should say that they might be too tight for you.
In August we will launch a digital size fitter which will guide and help our customers to find the right size."
Thanks for the further suggestion Arnold.
