Following the success of TVOC, we at LEI have created a new armchair planning competition. This time it's sprint planning based at Loughborough University, using the "other end" of the map from last year's sprint championships. We've chosen you a start, finish and final control and the rest is up to you. You can choose to plan M21, W50 or Yellow courses (or all of them) and just a single race for each that should be suitable for an A final. More details rules (including winning times from which you should derive an appropriate length), map and template Purple Pen file are available here:
http://www.leioc.org.uk/sprint-planning-competition
Deadline is 5th July. Entries should be emailed to Ed Chester (address on link above) who will anonymise them and forward to the judges: Peter Hornsby, mapper, and Iain Phillips, planner of last year's BSDC. At present the prize is the glory of winning.
The advantage of an armchair competition mean we can ignore many real-life planning problems so we have: the map has been altered from real life in a couple of places to provide more planning opportunities and the chosen location of the finish had been entertained for BSDC19, but we couldn't make the logistics work or permission to use Loughborough's stadium.

Re: LEI planning competition
Can we assume that competitors will not be impeded by parked or parking cars in the car parks?

Re: LEI planning competition
You can assume no cars in the area - we did say that trafficked areas could be considered safe, so this is a natural extension.
PS glad some one has responded ... it looked very quiet. THANKS

Re: LEI planning competition
Press release in preparation. It proved somewhat harder to judge than I had planned time for. Shouldn’t be long now.
