The stormy weather played havoc with last Sunday's orienteering events. And the weather this weekend does not look that much better.
But if you are suffering withdrawal symptoms, we have the solution. You can have a double dose of O at Hambleden on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd February. Saturday evening sees the British Night Champs, followed on the Sunday by the Chiltern Challenge (national event). Details at https://tvoc.org.uk/events/a-big-event/ and https://tvoc.org.uk/events/chiltern-challenge/.
Hambleden is a superb area, which is rarely used for orienteering because of limited access (it's a shooting estate) and high access fees. You may well remember it as the location for days 2 and 4 of JK 2013.
Even the weather next week is looking quite nice, warm if a little breezy - see https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2647583.
Closing date is this Sunday (the 16th). No entry after that date for the Night Champs, and limited entry on the day for the Chiltern Challenge. Don't miss it.

Fortunately, it does not look like the weather gods are attempting a hat-trick. Whilst the forecast for the weekend at Hambleden (see https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2647583) is for a fresh breeze, it generally looks pretty reasonable weather. Double digit temperatures cannot be bad for February.
Entries for the British Night Championships are now closed.
For the Chiltern Challenge, we are keeping pre-entry open until Thursday night, and there will be entry on the day as well. With 640 entries already it will be a great event, but we would be delighted to welcome even more of you.

Re: Are you missing your O-fix?
If anyone sees someone in an Austrian Orienteering Team jacket with a large blue rucksack on his back heading from Henley-on-Thames towards the British Night Champs please stop and give him a lift. Alternatively I am looking for a lift from Bath on Saturday and an onward journey to Gatwick on Sunday
