Re: Condes
To put a text on the line below:
Select the control
From the menu select:
"Control" ->
"Edit control..."
In the window that pops up select the
"Texts, Score-O, and Status" tab
And enter your text in the "Additional text" box
To create a map exchange:
Select the control
From the menu select:
"Control"
"Map change"
The "-1" & "-2" will be appended to the course name in the CDs.

Re: Condes
Yes I know that but the text appears in all descriptions, some do not have a map exchange.
I only want it to on a specific course.

Re: Condes
In that case create a second start triangle on the map and insert it into the the relevant courses.
Set it as a map exchange, but add the "turn over map" text to the (dashed) leg from the map exchange control to the triangle rather than the control. Drag the triangle to the same location as the control so the leg has zero length and give the triangle the same CD as the control.

Re: Condes
You get a box though in the descriptions below the control with a route thrombosis the control to the start which is misleading as that control is the start.

Re: Condes
What version of condes are you using?
Older versions used to show something like this:
[ O ---- 0 m ----> A ]
ie a zero length taped route to pick up the new map.
is that what you mean by a route thrombosis?
The latest version is smart enough to miss this out when the length is zero (or very short).

Re: Condes
In that case you have several options, depending on how much of a problem you consider that box in the CDs to be:
1. Live with it.
2. Upgrade to Condes 10
3. Add an extra control for the map exchange that is only visited by the 2-map courses
4. (after the courses are finalised) Make a copy of the condes file and print the double sided courses from one file and single map courses from the other.

Re: Condes
I had a similar problem and tried to use the click on the control and then add the text eg for a road crossing but then found the the text appeared after that control in every case. My 'controller' advised to click on the line joining the 2 controls and then add a text box to that. I also needed to use that when I wanted to add a comment re the white course but not on other courses

Re: Condes
You can even make the text added to a leg specific for a course.
However, it doesn't help for a "turn over the map for part 2" text, because the text would appear on at the top of the CDs on the part 2 map rather than at the bottom of the CDs on the part 1 map. Hence the need for a 2nd start triangle. Loose CDs for the whole course would be OK, but not those printed on the map.
