The annual trawl of the BOF fixture list for events for next year's UK Urban League once more gave far fewer candidates than I expected. Re: UK Urban League 2020
Could an indoor event be considered? Assuming long enough winning times and the usual age classes? As I seem to be planning one and it hope it will be fabulous! I can promise 100% level man made surfaces to run on and no rain getting you wet. A constant warm temperature too and porcelin toilets...

Provisional date for this Saxons event is Saturday 28th March - it would make for a very exciting and slightly different start to the urban season! With a level B forest event on the Sunday - what is not to like?

Interesting - the LOG events have been registered as urban, so not sure why they're not showing:

3rd May - Arnold (NOC)
31st May - Barrow on Soar (LEI)
14th June - Ashby (LEI)
28th June - Belper (DVO)
27th September - The Meadows, Nottingham (NOC)

Strider: Are they down as Local? Roger only looked for Regional and upwards, which is why our Birmingham event wasn't on his list.

Re: UK Urban League 2020
We are in the process of updating our Indoor Urban to Level C / Regional.
I don't think you can expect to be in the UK Urban League with just a Local race. It makes perfect sense to me. There are certain things (like a Controller) which maintain the level of quality of the League.
One thought which occurs to me is the ranking points for an Indoor Urban. Could be interesting! Indoor events are a bit like TrailO. It is more about your brain than your legs. Top orienteers can often be way down and good crossword / problem solvers can do very well

It does need to be more than just adding the word urban or sprint to the title, the person registering the race needs to select urban or sprint from the drop down menu of race type in the event details section; which I had not done for the Tenby Urban race on 17th May 2020. How many urban races had to take into account the tide timetable when planning the final legs last time they were run?

I'm intrigued: a few more for pensioners with time on their hands?

Usually it's the YJ and J categories that are affected, as some areas can't accommodate a suitable course...
