WOC 2019

Re: WOC 2019
Given that it hasn't gone up on the IOF website yet, I've put the provisional team points (for 2021 long slot allocations) up temporarily on the OA website at http://orienteering.asn.au/wp-content/u ... -2021.xlsx. Short version is that the British women look to have a good chance of getting their 3rd woman back (they need to finish within 4 places of Estonia and 6 of Poland in the relay), but the men need either a very big performance themselves or a mispunch by someone else.

Oh. Yeah. Was it in the Euros he brought them back in first place on the 1st leg?
Yeah I was thinking it must be quite unusual for your best sprint orienteer also to be a likely pick for a forest relay place (had he been there). Thinking maybe Denmark might be in the same boat with Maja Alm (unless shes not running due to injury or something).
Orienteering - its no walk in the park

She’s concentrating on making the Danish Olympic team for Tokyo.

Relay area looks very Scottish (in a good way☺)
Quite lush vegetation in places.
Good road loop by Megan got her away from the second group, now if she can only get up to the front pack.

Megan overhauls the Pole. Good effort. But a big gap to the chasing pack.

Re: WOC 2019
Sneaky long leg near the end, N and S options but N is being g preference due to a roadsectionwhich the drops you in green and will do all before the control, no one taking the southern route which looks cleaner approach but group think kicking in no one wants to leave the group.
Megan had a good run, brought the team up to 9th from 15th
Just to add to the fun epic weather too, mens teams seriously considering headlights.

Cat Taylor closing on the Dane. 8th place is on. But still 3mins down on podium positions.

Re: WOC 2019
Norway and Russia taking the S route on the last long leg, could be interesting
Cat has blown past Denmark and is close to
estonia but taking a maverick route on the last long leg, may end up in the fallen tree area.
Denmark taking the road and closing g.

Re: WOC 2019
If she had known how close she was a different had taken the same route, maybe but got in the grote and lost time and impetus. Shame as she was having a storming run.
Looked to have lost about 2mins on that last long leg route choice
