Anybody any news about the land permission problem? Just trying to sort out transport, accommodation etc.
Can't find any info about Kings Cross race on Friday evening either. Anybody know what times please, as trying to sort out train times?
TIA.

Re: SLOW City Race
A brief update
We hope to open entries on Friday this week. We have had significant problems with areas for 2 of the events meaning that we have had to change locations late on. We didn’t want to take entries until we were certain of the locations.
Locations will be
Friday Middlesex University, Hendon campus (CHANGED)
Saturday City of London including the Barbican (CHANGED)
Sunday Greenwich Park and surrounds
I’m off tomorrow for site visits to Saturday’s planned Assembly area, hopefully that will nail the last point

Thanks for all the info. Just in time, as it does make a significant to our bookings (too late for accommodation, but can live with that!). Appreciate the challenges you all face, and looking forward to the weekend.

Entries Now Open!
Different issues with two separate councils caused our problems late on .
For Saturday, we were asking to use an area that we had used before without issue. But after 6 months of frustrating attempts to explain the realities of the event (no we don’t need to complete a road closures form; yes, we have already sent in a Risk Assessment form - twice, etc) Tower Hamlets Council decided that it was a major event requiring a fee of £2000 (yes two thousand pounds) to be allowed to run on any streets or pavements. Plus £1300 to use any parks. This, along with a lot of unresolved unusual requests such as the need for letters to be sent to all households ‘on the route’ meant that we felt that we had reached the decision point for the event. So we went back to the very helpful City of London Corporation. Then all we had to do was find an Assembly venue as our first choice was already booked up...
For Friday I know that LOK had to deal with a completely different set of concerns from Camden
Website with lots of details should be up in the next 24 hours

What’s the start window going to be for the Saturday race? Can’t see this information on the website at the moment.

TBH, quite nice having earlier starts for a change - means we can do something else more easily before heading back north (really pleased the races coincide with Open London weekend!). Probably more a pain for the organisers I would think.

Re: SLOW City Race
The final details say that the Circle Line isn't running on Saturday, but according to TfL neither are the Hammersmith and City nor Metropolitan Lines (at least in the central area). So as I understand it, there won't be any trains at all at Barbican, and the options will be Northern Line or National Rail to Moorgate, Thameslink to Farringdon, or Central Line to St. Paul's or Chancery Lane. I presume it's OK to walk from St. Paul's to the Museum of London and then follow the marked route from Moorgate, or from Chancery Lane along Charterhouse St?

Re: SLOW City Race
I would also check buses, which are often quicker!
And we’re not usually too fussed about following any particular routes to get to the race, given that you’re surrounded by the mapped area. Just don’t go looking for controls in the Barbican, although I’m not sure how much that would actually help...
