**shameless request for help**
I am due to give a talk / presentation at an orienteering clinic in Malaysia in a couple of weeks' time (long story which I can explain to anyone who cares enough.) The audience, as far as I understand, are relative newcomers who want to learn how to orienteer.
I've orienteered for 30+ years but have never given a presentation on it, so rather than start entirely from scratch I thought I would ask you all if you had any interesting slides you could possibly share? Either your own or an online link, as long as you don't mind me borrowing some of the content...
Nominally the topic is "Athlete orienteering development" but I think any interesting content on orienteering would do. It should be relatively basic though.
Any links or pm messages most appreciated. Of course I'd be very happy to send you my finished product back in return.

Re: Orienteering presentation slides
If you have a reasonably up to date laptop or tablet (any device with a browser) you could use my free O-simulation to show exactly what it looks like to navigate round a simple course. Both map and scene are shown in detail.
Try it first at http://www.myforest.uk - select the role of novice orienteer and select the easy short course. A scrollable map of the course will then be shown and a button switches you to the scene on the ground where you will be standing just before the start banner. Move using arrow keys. Controls are punched when you are within 5m.
(Novice orienteer means that your position is always shown on the map. This is unrealistic of course but useful for training beginners in map reading.)
There is comprehensive documentation at http://www.grelf.net/terrain.html and if you email me I could send you a set of files to run from disc in case you cannot get online in Malaysia. I am working on a demo video but probably not in time for you (your requirement may give me an impetus though.)

I am interested in any contacts you make in Malaysia - I was born and bred in Malaysia (Malacca and Kuala Lumpur) and at some stage soon(ish) intend making a trip back to include golf (father was Club Captain of the Royal Selangor Golf Club) and now of course orienteering.
