Runners having "ChangeSI" in the startlist MUST use another SIAC instead of currently planned one that was used in MF. These SIACs of with older firmware can experience the readout lockup issue if the battery dies during the race, and it will be timeconsuming and stressfull both for you and us to restore your punch data, and complete restoration of your punch data might not be possible by the time of anouncement of official results. SIACs in question should be sent back to Sportident for firmware upgrade. You can get further details on this at the finish in IT van

Does anyone know more about this announcement from WMOC and SIACs not fully functioning?

Re: SIAC at WMOC
some early siac cards apparantly have old firmware which can give problems when the battery gets low. no idea how to tell if your siac is affected other than by asking sportident. they published a short list of those potentially affected at WMOC

Re: SIAC at WMOC
See https://www.sportident.com/news/350-siac-service-notice.html. April 2015 is the (SI) production/shipping date, so cards obtained through an intermediary may have been purchased later.
I would have hoped SI know which exactly card numbers are affected, so there could be a simple check against say SI/BO/entry databases. (I guess this is what happened at WMOC. Unless perhaps the MF download database showed the firmware version directly).
