Re: Jamie Stevenson Trophy
Or time for other clubs to work harder? Interesting that first 3 clubs are all northern clubs that put on training and lots of events and thus have lots of junior members...
It ain’t rocket science.

Or time to have a go at the Yvette Baker Trophy?
Or maybe MAROC already have? Does the winner of the Jamie Stevenson automatically qualify for the final of the YBT? It would seem a reasonable option, but maybe the two competitions are completely separate?
The YBT is a long way south this year, but in other years the final might be within reach for a Scottish team....
Well done MAROC. I was quite impressed with the numbers at the recent INVOC mid-week schools event at Culloden Woods. Hopefully this will eventually lead to INVOC giving MAROC a tougher time in future JS Trophy competitions.

Yawn. It is the year-after-year efforts to attract, retain and develop juniors that Maroc have made that have put them in the enviable position of winning the JST so often.
The rules are already very well designed to neutralise any advantage a club with large numbers of juniors may have - only 6 to score, no more than 4 from any one course, no more than 3 from any one class (i.e. boys or girls on a particular course). This already leads to very close scores even when clubs may have very different numbers of participants, and does keep it exciting to the end on the day. Maroc winning the JST is NEVER a foregone conclusion.
As for the winning Scottish club getting entry to the Yvette Baker final... No, I won't rise to that.
But I will to this:
The top 3 clubs in the Jamie Stevenson were 3 of the 5 Scottish clubs that scored Green (for having juniors represent over 30% of club members) in the British Orienteering 'Every Junior Counts Year 1 Implementation Report', published today. Shame that they are described as 'England clubs'. These kind of mistakes are tiresome, and have happened more than once in recent BOF news items.
