Trying to slowly move us on from the JK, did you know that it's Tiomila this weekend? This year based in Skane in Southern Sweden and the arena includes an ice hockey stadium (minus the ice!)
There is a great TV package with really good commentary in Swedish, Finnish and English, the latter as in previous years provided by my good friend Boris Granovskiy - this can be accessed on https://webbtv.10mila.se/. It's 175 SEK (around £14) but well worth it.
Traditionally this race attracts way fewer UK teams than Jukola and it's no different this year, with only 1 main Tiomila team provided by WCOC (who also have two women's teams, as well as there being an Interlopers women's team.) Indeed out of 1000 teams across 3 relays, fewer than 30 are non-Scandinavian.
Nonetheless there will be some great competition including a load of Brits on various teams, which I'm hoping someone else can highlight!

Re: Tiomila 2019
Boris has done a great job last two years and I'm looking forward to it.
On The Red Line will certainly be trying to follow things. We are expecting the GB squad athletes (most were at the JK) plus plenty of others to be running. Most stronger teams are not yet announced, but Nydalens have published and Alan Cherry is out through injury.
Damkavlen: 7.3/6.2/9.8/4.2/8.5km Leg 3 not forked.
Tiomilakavlen: 12.2/11.7/5.9/17.7 (long night unforked), /11.1/10.2/8.7, /11.9/5.1/13.8

Re: Tiomila 2019
In last year's five runner Damkavlen, Jo Shepherd and Hollie Orr were in Halden's team that came third. Norsk Orientering (Google translate helps) notes the Halden coach has some additional runners available this year including: Sabine Hauswirth (World No 3) and Marika Teini (World No 4). So it's likely that Halden's second team will be pretty strong too.
Charlotte Watson was in the Lillomarka team that came seventh - 26 seconds ahead of Stora Tuna who left Tove Alexandersson too much to do on the last leg.
Jess Halliday and Cat Taylor ran the long unforked leg 3 for their clubs (final positions 35 and 36) - but talking to them at the JK both are managing injuries so we must wait and see for this year.

In the Nopesport tradition of digression, I congratulate one of the two UK clubs mentioned in the first post of this thread, on having seven names in today's various junior selection announcements. Well done West Cumberland. And very well done those seven - hope things go well.
