Eventor
I'm entering a couple of events in Sweden using Eventor and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to pay. I've registered with Eventor, clicked to enter the events and it appears that I'm entered but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to pay. Any ideas anyone? Is it normal with some events to pay on the day? Apologies if this is a stupid question and I'm missing something obvious!

Re: Eventor
In Sweden it is normally the club that is billed for entries, so payments are made between clubs independently from the entry system. If you are not a member of a Swedish club it is usually ok to pay on the day I think. Sometimes it says so in the invitation ("inbjudan") but otherwise it might be best to check with the organiser, if you can find an email address.

Great, thanks. I'll see if I can email the event organisers.

Re: Eventor
If you're used to the normal Fabian-type ecommerce experience then Eventor comes as a bit of a shock, as you neither pay nor really get a proper confirmation of your entry.
My experience for overseas entry to Swedish events (eg for Stockholm Indoor Cup) is that your entry is fine, and you pay on the day. But worth double checking I guess.

Re: Eventor
I have just received the Orienteering Australia e-News and found this about Eventor payments:
There have been some changes to the way Eventor handles payments for events. Previously it was possible to enter an event and pay at a later date. This caused problems for event organisers in printing additional maps and the like.
The changes to Eventor now bring it into line with every other online event entry system. You must pay the required fee at the time of making your entry. If you go through the entry process and don't pay, your entry will not be saved.
Most events will have two alternatives for payment being PayPal and POLi.
POLi allows you to make an EFT payment direct by logging into your online banking site. POLi is a trusted, secure payment option used by major Australian airlines and utilities companies.
PayPal is the other alternative. You DO NOT require a PayPal account to make a payment using PayPal. You can pay for events or membership using any debit or credit card without the need to create a PayPal account. Once again this is a trusted payment gateway used by major international online companies.
Both these options are quick and easy and minimise the burden on event organisers.
Sounds like good news to me.

Re: Eventor
I'm not entirely sure about this, but I think every country's Eventor is different, so accepting (mandating) payments in Australia doesn't necessarily mean that is also the case in Sweden.

Yes, the payments platform on Australian Eventor has no connection to other national Eventor systems.

I think they're independent systems in each country. And if you're doing a World Ranking event then IOF eventor is separate again.

Re: Eventor
The systems for the different nations are all independent. The only common string is the base platform which the Swedish Association sold as a package to the other nations.
Payment for entries from competitors who are not members of a Swedish club at the vast majority of events in Sweden is taken at the event. Fees for Swedish club members are usually invoiced to the clubs.
