You've been Framed - Strathearn 2019
We have received funding for next year's Scottish 6 Days to do a daily "broadcast" (internet) and are looking for a suitable presenter to work with a film crew. It is quite likely we will bring in Karel Jonak and his team from the Czech Republic - most likely they will also be doing WOC 2022 (contracted by the IOF). At the moment I only have sketchy ideas as to how we are going to do things or what the daily format will look like so ideally I am looking for someone to take this on as a project. I cannot promise a fortune, only fame. Additionally we have funding to produce promo videos for Lochaber 2021 and WOC 2022 with filming in the Spring. There is an opportunity to get involved with this. Before I put something on the BOF/SOA website I am seeking input and ideas from Nopesporters. I can be reached at the usual day job colin.matheson@scottish-orienteering.org
Fac et Spera. Views expressed are not necessarily those of the Scottish 6 Days Assistant Coordinator

I think that’s great news and potentially a very good opportunity to promote the sport. Obviously it depends a bit on how much runtime you’ll have per day but I’d suggest a double-act rather than a single presenter. One of them can focus on interviewing a couple of competitors a day – maybe before and after they run – have this arranged well in advance rather than grabbing whoever’s available at the finish line. Concentrate on juniors, elites and adult novices, with maybe an inspirational W75… The other presenter can focus on technical aspects – interview the planner, the mapper, look at route choices etc. Everything needs to be rehearsed, and well-edited: short and sharp. The presenters need to be engaging, articulate and above all to know about orienteering. Under 35 would be a plus. I can think of a few candidates but you need to advertise the roles and screen-test applicants together and with interviewees.
Finally, on no account allow any of the grumpy old gits from Nopesport time in front of the camera

Don't think asking someone to give an interview before they run is a good idea. It is the last thing you want to have on your mind when you are standing on the start line.
