Plumpton Rocks
I'm sure the Southern Champs were great but CLARO's Plumpton Rocks event was wonderful. I've never seen so many finishers smiling despite making many mistakes. I crawled through a cave, ran by mistake into a rock passage that ended in a lake and edged along a foot-wide ledge above a 5 metre drop... and that was on the way to number 1.

Plumpton Rocks
Plumpton Rocks fans will be pleased to know that there is another bit to the area (currently off the north end of the map) which will be added before the next event. It was explored by Claro's ever-dedicated Chairman, Tim Evans, on his way to number 21 (do take a look on RouteGadget)....

Re: Plumpton Rocks
I would have been at Plumpton Rocks had it not clashed with the Southern Champs. It's a great little area (as many film makers have cottoned on to) and, with Quentin's new map, I'm sure made a great race.
Hopefully I'll get another opportunity to run there before too long?

Looks fun but must be one of the world’s smallest maps in terms of square feet you can actually run on (taking out the lake)?

Re: Plumpton Rocks
Current CLARO thinking is to put on a Wednesday evening informal in Plumpton Rocks sometime this summer and then another Regional Middle Distance event during Autumn 2020 with the new bit of area mapped and added.
It is the tiniest area anyone has ever managed to squeeze a Blue Course on and have happy finishers taking the right winning times
For those of you who missed it, Quentin's new map is indeed a thing of beauty. I'm only a little biased.
