Rumours have been circulating for a few weeks in EBORland that some genius has secured access to Helmsley Castle for part of this year's WR sprint - now the final details are out, it's official. It's a great castle and, if all goes well, could mean we get to use Scarborough Castle next year which would be great.
Once this weekend's out of the way, I'll try to get my head round the British Champs details which sound rather interesting.

Re: White Rose sprint
I have run at an urban race that included Ludlow castle a few years ago which was an interesting novelty. Warwick castle has also been mapped I believe.

Warwick Castle has indeed been used. Quite amusing watching people appearing on the top of the battlements when the they should have been in the dry moat.

The sprint around Helmsley Castle was great, even if it was a little small, but good options when first entering the grounds - just a shame I didnt see the best route until afterwards. Made a good end to WR day 2.

If you're after a run around another castle then this one in early November in Budapest might be worth taking a look at http://hspartacus.hu/budasprint/

The most photogenic sprint of the year? See EBOR website including "disturbed ants-nest" video!
