Re: WTOC 2018
JK currently in first place with a third of his heat completed. Top 18/41 to qualify for the final.
His time is 240.5 for 6 stations of 4 controls. Assuming the results are complete he's done the course with either no errors or 1, maybe 2, errors and very some fast thinking.
ID currently 7th of 15 finishers on the parallel heat.

Re: WTOC 2018
JK now 3rd of 25 finishes and 40 (one seemingly no show) in the heat. I think this puts him in the final.
TD in same heat has completed 2 stations, but appears to have made mistakes.
In the parallel heat:
ID now 9th currently with 15 still to finish; is a 2nd GB member going to make it to the final?
NB is finished in 21st place (currently).
Top 18 from each heat qualify.

Re: WTOC 2018
Final few finishers now and it's JK and Ian through to this afternoon's final. Sadly not for Nick and Tom. JK an excellent 4th in his heat and Ian 15th.
Finals at 1pm.

Re: WTOC 2018
TempO finals have started. 5 stations of 5 controls, two GBR competitors: John Kewley and Ian Ditchfield.
ID starting 8th, JK 28th ... results in about an hour.

Re: WTOC 2018
The results system seems to have stopped with one competitor still to finish.
JK currently in 32nd place and ID in 28th. Current first place (and likely to remain there) is Petteri Hakala from Finland. An early starter remaining at the top of the results sheets throughout the event, waiting for others to catch up, which they failed to do.
Protests and appeals to come, but I'm not at the event, so I don't know what is happening.

Re: WTOC 2018
Looks like Tom is well placed on Day 1 of the PreO, just 1 point down and fast on the timed control.

Re: WTOC 2018
Tom still going well on day 2. Looks like only one dropped point in the first part of the course - overtaking several of those above him overnight. He could be in line for a top ten finish if he nails the final 7 controls.

Re: WTOC 2018
The top 5 finishers today got all controls correct on both days of the PreO: a stunning achievement. So it came down to accumulated penalty times at the timed controls. Jan Furucz winning the gold.
Tom Dobra was the best of the GB team, with two errors today, in 16th place,Nick Barrable 34th and JK 46th
Ian Ditchfield 7th in Public competition, gets him into Relay team today at the expense of JK.

and now ninth after the 3rd PreO leg with all teams finished. Just the final TempO to come ...
Norway, Latvia, Finland currently in 1,2,3 - is home advantage helping the Latvia team?
