Good luck to all in the GBR team for next weeks WOC in Riga & Sigulda. It'll be really interesting to watch the sprint final in Old Riga... having been a registered guide in Riga There must be a control on Freedom Monument or the Rifleman or the knoll in the park near Swedish Barracks....
Oh.... and sit having a coffee at Costa across from Blackheads House
And will anyone in the forest races bump into the Rose of Touraida in Sigulda???

**Edit - To echo Eddie on another thread, plus an additional article:**
Great set of articles ahead of WOC starting this weekend. Athletics Weekly is a huge platform and these news stories are definitely the first of their kind (at least in this generation). Kudos to Will Gardner and Kris Jones for being the main writers/contributors!
Athletics Weekly WOC Preview
Athletics Weekly Kris Jones Interview
The first article falls into a Cross/Fell/Trail sub-category for News - maybe it's time for a new one?

Thanks Bash! Photography was also very kindly provided by Sasha Chepelin (thanks again!) - the whole team supporting everyone even if we aren't there
Incidentally, if anyone is out in Latvia, takes some good snaps and wouldn't mind them being used, just shoot me a message. It would be greatly appreciated!

A very good article the AW one... good for non orienteers. Be interesting to see if the Sprint Final map gets many moans and groans if it represents a medival walled city.... that was Tallinn last year or whenever it was

Re: WOC 2018 - LATVIA
Welcome from a hot and humid Riga. Start times now published and you'll need to get up early to catch the women starting in the Sprint Qualifiers tomorrow (times below are BST):
Megan Carter-Davies 7:18
Charlotte Ward 7:10
Alice Leake 7:23
Kris Jones 8:11
Chris Smithard 8:39
Peter Hodkinson 8:25
The official WOC 2018 site includes full details of live coverage.
The Maprunner summary page will gradually build up to show the story of the WOC week.
On The Red Line will bring full details of everything that happens.
And to answer the standard question at this point, the top 15 from each heat qualify for tomorrow afternoon's sprint final.
Let the games begin.

It seems the Live results haven't woken up yet - times all over the place - any options for viewing proper results?

Fast and furious in the qualifiers, but everyone safely through. The action has now moved down into Riga old town, with an irregular network of narrow alleyways between a variety of old and new buildings. We passed a lot of TV cameras walking here so hopefully the coverage is good. Still very, very hot.

I had the same problem. Emailed them, and they sorted it in about 15 minutes.
