Short Version
Fill in the survey below to help Orienteering get UK Sport funding.
Long Version:
UK Sport are doing a Public Consultation on its future funding strategy which will come into effect in April 2021 post the Tokyo Games. This is to ensure that the strategic review for their future funding strategy acknowledges the views of all those with an opinion on UK Sport’s future vision and funding strategy.
This consultation will allow UK Sport to identify which aspects of its investment policy are viewed as most important in shaping success, what this should look like and how these should be measured in the future.
This means that if you have 15 minutes to spare, you can convey your view about whether GB Orienteering should receive UK Sport funding going forward. This is crucial for the longer term funding of non-Olympic Sports in general, and could massively help the GB Orienteering specifically - it would be fantastic, if we have another home WOC in 2022, to think that our top runners will get the support they deserve in preparation.
It is not all about money either, but access to athlete support services such as Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy.
The current UK Sport remit is very narrow, and they have a lot of money to spend. Even a fraction of this (i.e. the cost of one or two bikes for Jason Kenny) would make a massive difference to putting an international program in place.
It is also worth considering that there are some sports which are smaller and much less accessible than orienteering (and will always be so) which are heavily funded simply because they are in the Summer or Winter Olympics.

Done! Thanks Graham for drawing attention to this. This is OUR chance to push UK Sport to consider support of any sport where GB athletes are fighting for medals in their World Champs - to move away from this narrow Olympic focus we have and provide investment and support for all sports where GB athletes can excel.

Well that was cathartic!
Encourage everyone to have a go - its actually pretty fairly worded to allow us minority non Olympic sports to have our say.

Not sure that's the word I'd use but, yes, it does allow for some considered input from those who might want to encourage a shift away from Olympic/Paralympic only funding (especially given some of the sports that currently get financial support!).
I trust that people are drawing this opportunity to comment to the attention of fellow club members

Survey done.
Seems odd to me that, in the current nationalistic climate, UK Sport should choose to submit to the whims of the IOC when deciding which sports to support.

I'm at a loss, why success at an event that occurs for a fortnight every four years, should inspire the UK population to take part in sport for 52 weeks a year, every year.
