You now have an extra reason to come to the UKOL Liverpool Big Weekend on 6-7 October. In addition to Formby sand dunes on Saturday (entry limit 500) and UK Urban League sprints around the University area on Sunday, there is a major event, finally announced, for the same weekend.
Read more at the link below. Over 1 million people were on the streets to follow the story over the 3 days last time.

What this does mean is that the city will be full of people on the streets, accommodation will book up really early & prices will go up.
So, book now and, if you aren’t staying in the city centre, make sure that you can get to the city centre on Sunday morning by public transport. Please spread the word to others.

Re: Liverpool Big Weekend
Yes, it looks set to be an excellent weekend (weather permitting!). Formby is a mixture of wooded and open dunes. Sunday's double sprint will be around the university campus behind the Catholic cathedral: largely pedestrianised and detailed with just a couple of roads to cross - only the longest couple of courses got there in the 2016 event. See https://liverpoolbigweekend.wordpress.com/ for more information. The sprint races will be structured to occupy you for a couple of hours in the morning, leaving you all afternoon to watch the giants - and they are fantastic. Giant puppets - the red-coated people in the photographs were pulling the 'strings'.

Re: Liverpool Big Weekend
When are you going to open entries for the Liverpool Weekend? As entries are limited I'm reluctant to book anything until I know I'm in.

Re: Liverpool Big Weekend
Hi Mrs H,
We are going for a July 1st opening date on Fabian4 with a closing date of Sunday of 2 weeks before.
Last time round, with a similar entry limit for Ainsdale, it took a couple of weeks for us to reach the entry limit.
Hope that helps.

Re: Liverpool Big Weekend
We're really looking forward to the weekend and have booked tickets for the Terracotta Warriors on Friday and onto the Southport Camping and Caravan Site for four nights as we can get to everything by train from there.
The only problem is that we leave Derbyshire to drive to Dover early on 1st July to get the ferry as the first part of our journey to WMOC in Denmark. Many others will already have left for the Ypres City Race on 1st July.
Any chance of getting entries brought forward a week?

Re: Liverpool Big Weekend
Not sure if I did something wrong, but the SIAC hire for the sprint doesn't get added to my basket or total fees. Is it working? I entered anyway to make sure I got a place.

Re: Liverpool Big Weekend
As I understand it Liam, Adrian is making amendments to his system to cope with this so, as an interim measure, he is asking the question on screen 3a to establish if someone wants a SIAC and will then charge them using his ad hoc payments function later.
I have just downloaded the entry data so far and can see that it has logged that you have requested a hired SIAC.

Re: Liverpool Big Weekend - Formby Entry Limit
Entries for Formby are approaching the 500 limit (480 at time of writing).
Once this is reached, you will still be able to enter Liverpool Sprints on Sunday 7 October via Fabian4 but will get a message to say that Formby is full.
We will operate a waiting list in case of Formby entry cancellations. To add your name to the waiting list, go to the https://liverpoolbigweekend.wordpress.com/entries/ and click on the email Entries Secretary link.
If you cannot come to the event and, if there is a waiting list for entries, we will refund your entry for Formby only (minus the Fabian4 admin charge). Please email the Entries Secretary (via link above) as soon as possible if this is the case. Do not cancel your entry in Fabian4.
